LIFE OF AGONY-Sänger(in) Keith Caputo hat die Seiten gewechselt und nennt sich ab sofort Keith Mina Caputo. Sein neues Leben als Frau beginne jetzt, auch wenn er seinen Penis behalten wolle. Via Twitter verkündete der 37jährige Sänger: "Male to female transsexuals like me are the women who give up male privilege for femininity! Threaten the patriarchy!"
Auf seiner Website bezeichnet Keith Mina sich bereits zum Teil schon als "sie", in einem seiner letzten Twitter-Posts nimmt er Bezug auf seine Transsexualität und bedankt sich für die Unterstützung seiner Follower:
"YES I'm Transexual & PROUD.Clearly I'm not ashamed.I deeply thank all who have shown me much support in the recent days ESP on Twitter."
Es gibt jedoch auch kritische Töne. So heißt es im aktuellsten Twitter-Posting von Caputo:
"Who's the dj who bashed me 4 being transgender? I want his/her name & I hope someone recorded it for me? Anyone? Time 2 bring em down!"
Zur Zukunft von LIFE OF AGONY sagte Caputo in einem Interview bei DeadDave's Internet Radio Show:
"We realize that LIFE OF AGONY has become an extremely nostalgic act and the music that used to not be dated, in our eyes, is dated, and the whole situation is dated. It's a nostalgia, and we don't want to take advantage of that nostalgia anymore, nor do we wanna take advantage of the fans. We've got three shows this year and it's probably gonna be the last shows that we do for a very long time. In fact, we just may call it quits. Because we feel like we set out to do what we needed to collectively. We're very honest people, we love each other dearly, but we just can't get it on; we can't turn each other on in the studio. We hit a brick wall together, and it ain't cool. So there's probably not gonna be a new [LIFE OF AGONY] album, nor a new single... So people better start getting used to [the 2005 album] 'Broken Valley', because that's probably the last piece of music that they'll hear from the band."

Damit stellt Caputo sich in die Reihe von Persönlichkeiten wie Gorgoroths Gaahl, Priests Rob Halford und Skin von Skin Skunk Anansie, die ebenfalls öffentlich zu ihrer Homo-/Bi-Whatever-Sexualität stehen. Nichts Alltägliches in der Welt harter Musik und definitiv etwas, vor dem ich meinen Hut ziehe. Wollen wir hoffen, dass LIFE OF AGONY trotzdem weiter bestehen...
