Das Cover zu VOLAs drittem Album "Witness"
Das dänisch-schwedische Quartett VOLA meldet sich mit einem neuen Studioalbum zurück. Das drittes Studiowerk "Witness" wird am 21. Mai 2021 über Mascot Records veröffentlicht.
Mit dem Video zu “24 Light-Years“ veröffentlichen VOLA eine neue Single aus dem Album:
Dazu gibt es folgendes Statement von Bassist Nicolai Mogensen:
"We are very excited to share the music video for '24 Light-Years' with you. This song is one of my favourites from the forthcoming album, and it has been such a joy working on the track from a visual perspective. Anne and I have been making videos together for a while. We like to try out new techniques and explore different styles of drawing and animation. For this one, we went for a more digital, spacy, and fluent look and vibe. Anne has made the drawings for the video while I worked with the animation. We still consider ourselves novices in this field, but we put a lot of time and love into this little piece of work. We really hope that you enjoy it!”

Über den Song sagt Mygind:
“Stelle Dir jemanden den vor, der auf der Flucht vor den Behörden ist. Es wird immer schwieriger für ihn, sich zu verstecken, wofür ‘running low on straight lines’ als Metapher steht. Er/sie kann nicht einfach den direkten Weg wählen, sondern muss kreativ sein, um zu entkommen. Ob die Jagd real ist oder nur im Kopf der Person stattfindet, sollte eine offene Frage an den Zuhörer sein."
Und bereits im November 2020 veröffentlichten VOLA mit “Head Mounted Sideways“ einen ersten Vorgeschmack auf ihr neues Album:
